Is the AMZCHEF Espresso Machine with Built-in Grinder Worth It for a First Home Setup?

For a first home espresso setup, the AMZCHEF espresso machine with grinder is worth a serious look, because it folds a grinder, a brewing machine and a steam wand into one 1500W unit: per the Amazon listing it pairs a 40mm conical burr grinder with 40 grind settings and 0.5-second dosing, a 58mm portafilter with adjustable temperature and a touch display, and a rotating steam wand with a 350ml/12oz milk pitcher in the box. AMZCHEF's own product page lists the same core figures and adds a 3-year warranty statement, single and double shot filter baskets and a measuring spoon with tamper. What neither source states is pump pressure, machine weight or the temperature range, and the listing title's "Pre-Infusion" and "30S Heat-Up" promises are not described in the text of the brand's page, so treat those two as title claims to confirm rather than as specifications.

Updated October 2026.

We did not test this product ourselves; this review is built from the manufacturer's published specifications and Amazon's product listing.

What the all-in-one format covers

A first espresso setup normally means three decisions: a grinder that can grind fine and consistently enough for espresso, a machine with a pump and a heating system, and some way to steam milk. Per the listing, this machine covers all three — "Grind, brew and steam in one 10.4 × 13.0 × 15.9 in espresso machine" — with a 1500W heating system and a removable 1.8L water tank. AMZCHEF's page lists the same dimensions and the same tank, and says the "compact" footprint "fits small kitchens and home coffee bars."

That combination is the whole argument for the machine. A separate grinder that can keep up with a 58mm basket is its own purchase, and our burr grinder roundup covers standalone burr grinders. Building the grinder into the machine removes that decision, with the trade-off that the two halves are tied together; neither source says whether the grinder can be serviced or replaced on its own.

The grinder: 40 settings and timed dosing

Per the listing, the grinder is a 40mm conical burr with 40 grind settings and "precise 0.5-second dosing," with an anti-static system that "helps reduce clinging and countertop mess." AMZCHEF's page states the same: "Customize your coffee with 40 grind settings and 0.5-second dosing adjustments," and its specification table lists "40mm Conical Burr" and "Grind Settings: 40."

Timed dosing means the grinder runs for a set number of seconds rather than weighing the coffee. Per the listing, the touch display shows grind time alongside brew time and temperature, so in practice you adjust the grind time in half-second steps until the basket holds the dose you want, and re-check it when you change beans, because different beans fill a basket at different rates for the same run time. Neither source states the hopper capacity, the burr material, or how the 40 settings are spaced across the range. Whether 40 steps are fine enough to dial in espresso depends on that spacing, which is the one grinder question this review cannot answer from the published material.

One identification note: AMZCHEF's site also lists a different all-in-one machine with 44 grind settings and a 60oz water tank. That is not this model. The machine reviewed here is the 40-setting, 1.8L-tank version, and the listing title's "40 Grind Settings" is the quick way to tell them apart.

Brewing: 58mm portafilter, adjustable temperature, memory

Per the listing, "The 58mm portafilter gives you more control over dose, tamp and extraction," and the touch display "clearly shows grind time, brew time and adjustable temperature, while memory keeps your preferred settings after shutdown." AMZCHEF's page puts it as "barista-style brewing with a 58mm portafilter, adjustable temperature, and clear touch display," and adds, "The memory function saves your preferred settings, even after power-off."

The 58mm portafilter is the size both sources list; a calibrated 58mm tamper has its own review. Per the box list on AMZCHEF's page, the machine ships with a portafilter, a single shot filter basket, a double shot filter basket and a "measuring spoon with tamper."

Two things are missing from both sources. Neither states a pump pressure figure, and neither gives the temperature range behind the word "adjustable" — the brand page's table says only "Temperature Control: Adjustable." The listing title also promises "Pre-Infusion" and "30S Heat-Up," but neither the listing's own feature bullets nor the text of AMZCHEF's page describes either one, so confirm both on the current listing before you count on them.

Milk, cold brew and hot water

Per the listing, the machine makes "single or double espresso, cold brew, hot water, lattes and cappuccinos," and "The rotating steam wand creates smooth microfoam, and the included 350ml/12oz milk pitcher makes steaming and latte art easier." AMZCHEF's page lists the same drink options — "Single/Double Espresso, Cold Brew, Hot Water" and "Lattes, Cappuccinos" — describes the wand as 360° rotating, and specifies the pitcher as "a 350ml/12oz stainless steel milk pitcher."

Both sources describe the milk side as a rotating steam wand. The cold brew mode is less clear. Both sources list it as a drink option, but neither explains how it works — whether it is a cold extraction through the portafilter, how long it takes, or what volume it produces — so read it as a feature the machine has rather than one either source has described.

Cleaning, pressure relief and the warranty question

Per the listing, "Removable grinder and steam components make routine cleaning easier," and "A built-in pressure relief system helps release abnormal pressure and protect the pump, making everyday brewing more forgiving for beginners." AMZCHEF's page says "Removable components simplify cleaning" and that "the built-in pressure relief system helps protect the pump from abnormal pressure." Its care notes add "Clean the steam wand after every use" and "Clean removable components regularly and descale as recommended," without naming a descaling program on the machine.

The warranty needs a careful read. AMZCHEF's page states a "3-Year Warranty, 1 year longer than other online stores." That is the brand's statement about purchases from its own store, and the wording itself says other stores carry a different term. The Amazon listing's bullets state no warranty term at all. If the warranty is part of your decision, confirm the term that applies to an Amazon purchase.

What stands out

  • Grinder, machine and steam wand in one 10.4 × 13.0 × 15.9 in footprint, per both sources.
  • A 58mm portafilter, per both sources.
  • 40 grind settings with 0.5-second dose timing on a 40mm conical burr, per both sources.
  • A memory function that keeps your preferred settings after shutdown, per both sources.
  • A 1.8L removable tank and a 350ml/12oz pitcher in the box, per both sources.

Where it might not fit

  • No pump pressure, weight or temperature range is stated by either source.
  • "Pre-Infusion" and "30S Heat-Up" are named in the listing title; neither source's text describes them.
  • The grinder's step spacing and hopper capacity are not stated, so how finely it dials in espresso is an open question.
  • The 3-year warranty is a brand-store statement; the Amazon listing states no term.
  • Grinder and machine are one unit; neither source says how a grinder fault would be serviced.

Verdict

Worth it as a first setup for someone who wants to learn espresso on a 58mm portafilter without buying a separate grinder, and who would rather have a touch display with memory than a bare set of switches. The figures that matter — 1500W, 40mm conical burr, 40 settings, 0.5-second dosing, 58mm, 1.8L tank, 350ml/12oz pitcher — are stated identically on the Amazon listing and on AMZCHEF's page. The gaps are real but checkable: pump pressure, the warranty that applies to an Amazon purchase, and the two title claims. If you would rather start with a standalone machine and add a grinder later, our beginner espresso machine roundup covers that route. Otherwise, check the current price of the AMZCHEF espresso machine with grinder on Amazon and read the current bullets for pre-infusion and heat-up before you order.
